Castlehaven House and Lodge
Welcome to the Castlehaven House. Castlehaven House used to be a small rectory overlooking Castlehaven Bay and Reen Point. Over time, it got renovated and modernized, but never lost its classic charm. It is close to Castletownshend, an old fishing village that is home to the old St. Barrahane's church, the same saint who has a holy well on the property. The area is steeped in history, from old druidic sites, like Drombeg Stone Circle, to evidence of more recent battles between the Spanish Armada and the British navy.
For more than 30 years this house has held birthdays, quiet mornings, loud dinners, first steps, last dances, and the everyday moments that stitch a life together. It’s a place shaped by generations — the small repairs made with care, the photographs lining the hallway, the recipes that come out of the same worn cookbook. You’re stepping into a space that’s lived in and loved.
Make yourself comfortable. You’ll find cozy corners for reading, an inviting kitchen where conversation gathers, and outdoor spaces that change with the seasons. We ask only that you treat this home as we do: with respect, kindness, and a little patience for the quirks that come with a well-loved place.
If you need anything while you’re here, let us know. We hope this house feels like a pause from the busy world — familiar, warm, and welcoming. Stay well and enjoy your time.
